About Me

                                                             ABOUT ME

Cynders Designs is my new adventure following my retirement of 38 years of nursing.

I started making earrings for myself for the joy of the craft and creative expression.  Since I received many compliments on my earrings, I began to make them for birthday and holiday gifts for others.  I get a spark of joy when I look at a pair of earrings that I've made, and I realized the joy is even greater when I see them on people I care about.  In turn, they would tell me how they get compliments on the earrings.  This gave me the confidence to pursue my own business venture.

When you are engaged in a conversation, a beautiful pair of earrings makes it that much better of an experience for your audience.  Thus, my motto, "Making the World a More Beautiful place one ear lobe at a time"
I believe in the healing powers of gem stones and the different vibrations they possess.  Every day is a new day with a different vibration.  I like to match my earrings and outfits for the vibration of my day.  I choose my earrings by intuition and a feeling that gravitates me toward a particular pair.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR GEM STONES AND JEWELRY

  • Please keep your jewelry out of water.  Silver can tarnish and the gold in my designs are only filled or plated to keep the cost down.
  • Citrine and Kyanite are self cleaning.
  • Laying the gems in the sunlight can recharge them.
  • Amethyst, Ametrine, Aquamarine, Beryl, Citrine, Kunzite, Sapphires, Fluorite, Rose Quartz, and Smokey Quartz can fade with prolonged exposure to sunlight.
  • Clear Quartz and Carnelian can cleanse other stones.  A bowl of tumbled clear quartz is great for cleansing your jewelry.  Simply place your jewelry on top of the quartz or wrap your jewelry in a clean cloth with a piece of Carnelian.  It is safe to clean the quartz and carnelian under running after they have done their magic.
  • Please don't sleep with your earrings.  Most of my designs are delicate and could be damaged whilst tossing and turning.  The ear hooks are very easy for removing.  Some folks don't like to be bothered with the ear nugs and simply "pinch" the ear hook snuggly around the ear lobe.

I search for a variety of gem stones that come from around the world and have interesting shapes.  No two pairs will be identical due to the variations of the natural stones.
